I have been a fan of the Redline stuff for years...It has CURED more cold shift problems than I could shake a stick at...Not caused them from my experience and customer reports...Esp in colder climates. There may be some brands of the syncronizer ring that need a thicker oil to function better..but the Laso german ones I use love the Redline...I suspect some of the cheaper rings might have an issue,( but no first hand proof) Any synthetic is going to be better than the dino oil of old as far as bearing life and stability at higher temps... That and changing it every 30K is the way to maintain them.
