Same up here in Edmonton, Alberta; the 'Texas' of Canada. With Crude oil prices (low 60's)at near lowest levels in 2 years they had to come up with some excuse. Seems a minor fire in one of the local refineries (put out in short order) combined with seasonal purging and cleaning of stacks has resulted in shortages all across the country. Hmmmm! Do they all need to clean at the same time? Plus it was RRSP contribution time (income tax manipulation) for the CEO's and share holders. And let's not forget that ESSO felt pressured by the 'Quarterly' near poverty profit levels of 8 Billion dollars. They need excuses for shortages and high prices until the summer tourist season increases demand. The poor dear souls, (the oil companies) probably ran out of foreign highjackings in Nigeria, or skirmishes in the Sudan. It's so hard to find reliable 'in the pocket' terrorists now-a-days. I mean really, considering all the mercenaries out there, you would think they could put together a few more oil scares. And those propagandists we pay so much to distort the daily world supply.
