Hell I was just thinking of plain 'ol galvanized water pipe, though the electro-whatsit thing hadn't occured to me (yet- yeah, I woulda thought of it eventually; I have notes about it in my ... notes). I use the stuff all over my pressure washer so I've seen years worth of what heated water under pressure does to it, and it doesn't do much for all of that. They make these wire doohickeys that keep pipe clamp pieces from coming off the the of the pipe- you could put one of those on for the hose barb, or you could actually get a female end with a hose barb. I haven't seen the really big ones at Home Depot or the like but you can order them. I had actually thought of making a sort of 'universal emergency hose repair kit' out stuff like that to keep in the van but it hadn't occured to me at that point to actually replace some of those expensive and potentially unreliable hoses with pipe.

Cya, Robert
