Just want to chime in here. The unit that vancafe and I both sell is a quality unit made of bronze and painted black. It does have the restrictor inside and it also has the ends with the raised ring to keep the hoses from popping off. Yes you can "roll your own" for much less however this is saying that your time is worth nothing. If you factor in your time planning out this job, running around getting supplies, learning to braze, buying a flaring tool for the pipes, etc. this unit is cheap at $99. The other problem is that if you don't have the flared ends then the hose can always just pop off on you even if it is double clamped (seen it happen many times). So buy the $45 unit with no flares (not worth it in my opinion), or make your own for $12 in parts and 10 hours of work. Or just buy one, and use your time relaxing or making money. Your time is worth more.
