When removing the rear heater core, there is no reason or benefit in making a bypass. Cap them off. Any coolant flowing through that bypass is coolant not available for the front heater and if fully un-restricted, coolant not available for the radiator.

When bypassing a leaky rear heater core I found some "pre-tinned" copper bits at Home Depot. (45 and 90 degree angles etc.) These have a crimped ridge about a half inch in from each end to hold the tinning solder, which also acts as a clamping ridge when connecting hoses.
