Melting in Antarctica and/or Greenland could cause huge shelves of ice and certainly water to slide right into the sea. Ignoring the Tsunami damage that could happen if a single big one calved off the Antarctic mountains and slid into the sea, various predictions have the global ocean water level rising between 15 to 30 feet in our or our kids lifetime. So expect to see discussions soon on how much dikes cost to surround major cities. Rich |
