RE: Proper pressure in 195-14's First, your mechanic doesn't know what he's talking about (I started to say he's an idiot but decided to be more diplomatic). Second, check with Discount Tire again and ask them to actually look up on their computer for that tire/vehicle combination. If nothing in the Hankook specs, have them look for 195/Vanagon specs from other tire manufactures. If that fails, I'd start with 40 front 50 rear. I'm basing this on my experience finding the VW recommended 43/53 pressures in 185R14's to be a very good pressure for my '90 Westy but backing off a little for the larger footprint of the 195's. Others on the list may have actual experience with the 195s and will be able to provide something more than a guess. |
