Heh heh....Lola is a cream puff....had 46,500 on the odometer when I bought her a year ago. PO always kept her garaged, did the routine maintenance, fixed whatever broke. I feel truly blessed! Lola has a standard transmission. Ellen Lola, 85 Vanagon ASI

Me, too. Trust the odometer, wonder whether VW did a lousy job with the sender + meter, or if it's just a symptom of the system's age. How you get 20 mpg is a mystery to me -- I envy you. Mellow Yellow gets 15.7 mpg, average freeway. A tank is good for 240 miles, by seat-of-the-pants reckoning.
