The only "Cutting" I can imagine that might be necessary for a modern radio/CD player is squaring up the corners where the radio goes into the dash. Many more models will actually fit in a Vanagon than the compatibility charts typically show. With some, the metal retainer that a rubber stop on the rear of a stock radio fits into, might have to be bent back a bit. Mike
