I assume you're talking about that Chromed plastic that fit's into the rubber. You can replace the chromed plastic with new, you can paint the existing plastic black so it's no longer noticeable, you can remove the plastic and replace it with the large size black home door screen spline, or you can replace the rubber gaskets with ones that don't accept the trim. The original trim for the side windows is different from the windshield. I see that GoWesty is out of the replacement trim.
