I found some twined wire (ie,. wire two wires twisted together and placed the third brake light in the rear ovehead cabinet tray. The wire matches the car color, so I just ran it over to the right side rear hatch channel down to the right rear tail light and then under the light housing to crimp splice it to the tail light wire harness.

Not the cleanest but the fastest.

The third brake light I'm using is from a late model Jetta. I sell these in my ebay store. It works for the Westfalia easily as installation requires no drilling.
