There are lots of nice places in Baja where 2wd Vanagons simply can't go and come back from but Syncros can. Next time you come down I will show you some where Syncro is a must. If you take a 2wd down there, you just need to avoid certain spots and routes. There are still plenty of places to see even with 2wd and 99% of the time a 2wd is fine as long as you don't stop. Of course I often like to stop at nice remote places. Then I eventually want to get moving again and that is the main problem for 2wd.
