Subject: That dreaded rust behind the fridge!

I finally got the kitchen/seat/watertank pulled out of my '88 Westy for the first time, to get a good look at the seams etc on the hookups. Guess what - it's way better than I expected! Very little rust around the water/power cutouts, and not much elsewhere either. I was expecting the worst after finding a rust bubble that went right through the floor just ahead of the sink drain last year. It appears this was an isolated bubble starting from the outside, not the common prolific cancer from the inside caused by leaking hookups. I will seal it all up with POR-15 and count myself lucky! For a 400k km van from Ontario, I'm quite amazed how good it looks in there. :-)
