Craig, you're not crazy. Pretty much ALL of the garages around here (SE Virginia) won't fit a Westy. The garage on our last house could fit the Carat -- but only if I wedged the door way up. The rough opening is about 7', however trim kills several inches off and the floors are raised ~ 1.5" on every one I've seen.
