IIRC, there are two little gears inside the little can that holds the fuel gage needle/display (and also temp gage, fwiw). I haven't bothered myself to really figure out how to "tune" it, but i think one adjusts the resting point, and the other adjusts how far it swings... i think. Old memory of something i didn't spend too much time with.
