Has anyone made something that would fit a floor jack securely and sort of 'key' itself to those two front most cross members to aid in quick lifting alignment? Or perhaps you have a totally different idea? Thanks for any input Nate --------------

Nate,

I believe the cross-member the Bentley recommends for a single point lift at the front of the Van, is the rear-most one, just in-front of the fuel tank on a 2WD Vanagon.

I glued-up a stack of 3/4" thick plywood that fits into and fills-up the rear-crossmember. Added a disc that fits the lift-pad on my floor-jack and jack-away. Check the lift pad on the jack to ensure it is not touching the fuel tank and chock the rear-wheels well. Use Jack-Stands under the corner jack-locations, lower Van onto them, check for security and remove the floor-jack if needing the room to work. The usual caveats for safety, use at your own risk!
