After putting in a engine last fall, yesterday, I removed my transaxle 86 Syncro because of a heavy gearing sound with every turn of the drive shaft. Now, when I did the engine I replace the pilot bearing and installed a new felt seal but the flywheel was missing the seal retainer. After examining the pilot bearing thru the clutch and pressure plate, the felt seal is ready to fall out.. Its obvious that the seal is not going to work without the retainer and its not available.. What have you rebuilders been doing about this? Removing the seal and forgetting about it will get me 40,000 miles but this is not my ways. I want to fix this right. Parts suppliers have any fixes for this one? JOE. W |
