This is a conflict I have every time I turn the ignition key in my van. I and my family love this van unlike any other car we've had, yet it goes against our principles to drive it. Put simply, 19 mpg is not justified in this era. Sure, it feels good to drive. But aren't all the Hummer drivers saying the same thing? The only long-term solution I can see is to promote the new plug-in hybrids that get 100 mpg, and take these old beasts out only for camping. |
