Please, Please everyone on the list. If you undertake this yourself then always use a new pin, make sure everything is snug and above all torque to the proper FT./LBS.-380. I didn't have an air wrench to do this so I had a garage do this when my rear bearings needed to be replaced along with shocks all the way around. I gave them the Bentley opened to the correct page with the instructions/torque specs. It sounded like something was shifting around so I again went back to have them recheck the tightness/torque. I think that they may have either not checked it or re-used the same pin on the crown nut. A few hundred miles later after traveling about 150 miles round trip at speeds up to 70 mph the wheel along with the drum and hub flew off! Luckily this happened about 1 mile from home (wife driving) and I was flabbergasted to see my precious Westy being towed into my driveway. I couldn't prove anything so I didn't press the issue with the garage but did let them know what happened. I ended up getting a friend to help me redo that side using a torque multiplier with a huge socket and breaker bar (we set it to 400 lbs.). No problems since. We were extremely fortunate.
