Well, an auction just ended on ebay for a complete Tiico conversion. I've
been agonizing all day long whether or not to bid on it. It was used,
38,000K on engine, looked very clean in the pics. I was willing to go 2K,
it ended up going for just over $1,900.00. I never even bid, just wasn't
sure if Tiico is the way I want to go (no flame intended toward Tiico).
Anyway, got home from work today and put on my new (used) alloy wheels with
4 new Continental Vanco 8 tires. I got 205 70R14's, and it now looks like a
Syncro with the slightly taller height. Had a little trouble with the
fronts, the new  bolts I ordered had 2 in the group that were a smaller
diameter. A quick call to the vendor resolved the problem, they are going
to send me two more, and luckily I don't have to drive the bus this
weekend-although  I want to! Also have a bit of a problem with the new
center caps I ordered for the alloys (stock VW, BTW). On the fronts, the
caps won't fit-the gap between the center of the wheel and the grease cup
is too small for the clips on the cap to fit. Rears fit fine. Wanted to put
alloys on the last Vanagon I had, never got around to it. Damn, I love this
Vanagon! Can't wait to bring it to Everybus....    Jeff
