Hey Nathaniel.

Yah "eating my heart out" That's some nice terrain you've gotten to! I haven't done that in my van yet though, so no reccomends on parts/service.

Re: 1st gear.

Have you checked inside the "shift mechanism housing" ? It's up front, under van up beneath shifter.

I'm sure you already checked the other couplings.
