1986 VW Vanagon Camper GL Westfalia 2WD

4 speed manual 2.1 4 cyl L90D Pastel White exterior Brown/Beige interior no A/C, no power windows/locks 295K km / 185K mi

So things that I've done to it since we got it: - All new poptop seals from Bus Depot (the kind with aluminum inserts so they don't rust) - New skylight from Trevor The Skylight Guy, new skylight mechanism and hinges http://www.theskylightguy.com - Shady Boy awning (blue fabric) http://www.shadyboy.com/vans/index.html which is a nice, compact unit that's pretty effective and well built given its minimalism - Bilstein HD shocks (Pricy, but really helps with crosswinds, etc.) - Later Vanagon alloy wheels + set of steel wheels - tinted windows - 5 Michelin Agilis tires (correct Vanagon Westfalia tires) - new Pioneer CD player - new windshield - Redline MTL synthetic oil in the transmission - helps shifting a LOT - rear heater core R&R (look ma - no leaks!) - replaced shifter bushings - K&N air filter - H4 headlights - fridge works well - I've had it out, cleaned the combustion chamber and "burped" it - canvas is in good shape - no rips

In late 2002 I bought a spare engine from a friend with a 1990 Syncro Westfalia who had converted his to diesel. It had about half the km's of ours, so I swapped the engines out over the 02/03 winter (at ~289K). I also swapped the ECU to the later one (which apparently can be chipped). It has no signs of any head gasket problems, and uses no coolant or oil. At that time, I completed the following: - new clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing - new thermostat and housing - VW G11 blue coolant - new plug wires, plugs rotor, etc. - compression 115/125/125/120 psi

I've since done a new radiator and fan switch. Temp needle runs dead over the light day in, day out.

The van was painted in the summer of 2006 in its original shade of L90D Pastel White. The windows and interior were all removed, all interior panels checked for rust, and sound deadening and insulation added. Other things done at the time: - Repaired and repainted rearview mirrors - Rebuilt all door locks - New seals for camper outlets - New bumper ends - New w/w spray nozzles

Van is located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada Price is $14.5K USD / $17K CAD obo We're not interested in any trades, as we've got enough vehicles to go around, thanks.
