Not knowing your engine makes it difficult to give a good answer but ...

My '85 Westy just went over 200,000 miles last weekend.  Granted, I put
new head gaskets on it 40,000 miles ago, but I wouldn't hesitate to
drive it from Maine to Seattle and back.
