That kit would work fine on any Vanagon if you were willing to cut the end off the hose and slide it over the test port on the middle of the engine.

The note about not working for Bosch is talking only about Bosch CIS type injection which never came on Vanagons.

You can make your own easily enough and I have done so several times when helping other people somewhere. Just buy a cheap tire pressure gauge of the type with a hose on it. Cut the end off the hose and extend the hose by a foot or two. Use clamps and also get one for the end that will slip over the test fitting. Keep the gauge u, higher than the engine lid at all times so no fuel gets inside it.
