what with all the discussion on this problem ,did you change the fuel filter and cut it  open to see what is in it???  You have the classic symptoms of fuel restriction problems.
* how old is the fuel filter?
* how old is the gas tank?
* buy any gas from  a unusual source, like a small country store?
you did mention a sediment laden filter in your first post
