The fuel pump relay is not the problem and you can bypass it just like that section of the Bentley tells you too. Make a jumper wire 3" or longer with male spade ends on the ends. Remove the FP relay and plug the jumper into it on the 2 pins Bentley says. This will power the fuel pump on no matter what the key position so be careful.

500 cc is 500 ml is ~ 16 oz or half quart
