Subject: Brake question
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

I've bleed my brakes about a month or so ago, and just had an opportunity to get the van on the road today. Not sure what's normal, as I don't have a lot in history with this particular vehicle. The pedal is going about two thirds of the way to the floor before I get decent pressure and braking power. If I pump the pedal once, then I get good braking power and pedal. Is this normal for the Vanagon's? Should I rebleed the brakes? Fluid level appears to be fine, and I don't think I introduced in the air into the system. Pedal doesn't feel spongy. Speaking of bleeding breaks, does anyone there know where I can get an extra cap for the brake reservoirs to make one of the homemade brake bleeders? I used one of those one-way valve setups, and it works, but the homemade pressure bleeders I read about seem pretty slick.
