Succinctly put, Dennis.

I believe the filter is the real culprit here. It is a clear plastic round filter and it looks cruddy. THe tank is about 2 years old - one good thing the PO did. I did run the pick up dry a few months ago so maybe whatever is in the tank finally plugged the filter.
