IT is all fine and dandy to have file servers like this. If you really want to serve large files and such you should use a FTP server. IT is a proven technology and works and is fairly safe. However it is out of date and has been replaced by bittorrent. If you really want to get something to the masses you set it up as a bit torrent, especially if the the content is questionable like lets say music. The bittorrent works way differently, you dont need tons of storage space and it doesnt really get tracked back to one person. IT works through finding pieces of the torrent file out there and putting it back together as the original file, but coming from other people running bittorrent clients and leaving them open. I have been a member of lots of music trading groups over the years and the old trusty stand by was FTP servers, but they just take a ton of bandwidth and a ton of storage space. Normally on a dsl/cable setup you really wont be able to serve out very much bandwith maybe 30k or so to 2 maybe three people so large files are going to take a while. With bit torrent it uses bandwith from all over the place so your downloads can get pretty rippin fast. Adrian
