I wrote earlier this week when my A/C went out, and torn up the belt. The compressor is locked up and I am sure that a new one is needed. When I talked to my mechanic, he quoted $550 for parts and $580 for labor. Besides the compressor unit he says that the hoses, receiver/drier, and condenser should be replaced. Is that reasonable? My son and I are thinking of doing it ourselves.... he is a novice auto tech and we have the Bentley manual. Can this be done in our driveway or is it best to have a pro do it? I would appreciate any opinion....If I decide to do this I'll be back for questions (fair warning :) ) Larry - Charlotte 89 Westy - Gypsy Rose |
