I ran across a complete overhead ac in a 84 vanagon in a local junque yard last weekend. I know, I know I am supposed to stay out of those tawdry places, but I couldn't help myself. I believe it was the same one being discussed on the list last week. Anywho, I looked at getting it for my westy, but there were some obvious things that wouldn't work in a westy such as the location of the overhead unit/ conflict w/ poptop location, conflict w/ drivers side piping furr-out on B pillar & sink cabinet, etc. Has anyone installed this unit in a westy? Can it be modified to fit w/ o hacking the westy? What's a unit like this worth? Is it a reasonable substitute for a Behr, which I had/sold as I didn't want to modify my radio, loose my fresh air??? Thanks, Tom B.-global warming is coming up |
