Tom,

Nada! As should be in the detailed description, I moved the blower/evap unit forward relative to the typical Vanagon AC mounting to minimize the impact on the opening. I mounted it so the face of the unit (with a 0.75 inch thick piece of upholstered memory foam) served as a comfortable headrest for the driver's position - when fully back for long legs. I think I optimized it to the fraction of a mm.!
