My 84 Westy was missing the rear table support, so I talked the local muffler shop guys into making a new one out of exhaust pipe. It's the same diameter. I had them bend the pipe at 90° and weld a T at the top

end with a nut welded to the side of the T. Cost me $20 plus a can of brown spray paint.

With your 89 Westy, you will have to make the top end to match the later model table connector, but that should be doable. Buy a knob at OSH (or any good hardware store) with a retainer clip to keep the knob

on the table leg.
