Subject: Zonies: January camping?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

Last January I took my traditional January solo camping trip up the California coast. We had a record cold spell and I found that the cold, along the short days and the disappointingly grotty campgrounds along the coast made for a fairly gloomy experience. So I'm thinking that next January I'd like to head east from San Diego and do some camping in the Southwest, and I want to get an early start gathering ideas.

If anyone has suggestions for places to camp in Arizona, New Mexico, Southwest Texas, please p-mail me. I'm looking for plenty of sunlight, great views, quiet and seclusion. No hookups. Primitive is good, esp. places that are not attractive to the larger motorhomers.
