Subject: 1983 Water cooled running rough?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1
I need help. I just purchased it and I keep finding things wrong and fixing them but there is still something going on that I can't find. I have done most of the test in the Bently manual exept for the CO test. I must also admit that I have not tested the ignition timing yet. It will randomly run well. The problem is most prominent at idle. If I run it up then bring it back to idle it runs fine for a short time then it starts to run rich and rough. With the cap off of the air flow sensor I can watch it back and forth seeming to agrivate the rough idle. Two bits of information that might help is. I noticed that it is missing the digital idle stabalizer. What does it do? the two wires are just hooked together. The other thing is the test for the aux air thing. When it is warmed up it still changes the idle when I pinch it off. Actually it kills the engine. It runs even worse when it is cold though. Please help me!! Anyone in boise willing to come take a look?
Thanks
Wayne
