1987 Syncro Westy. I have had non-start in cold weather for a while and I believed it was the solenoid sticking, so I had it removed, cleaned, lubed, etc. Now it is worse-- non-start in not-so-cold weather, or a few second delay before it kicks in. After the first start of the day, it starts normally. When I turn the ignition switch to "on" I get dash lights and hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds. Then if I turn to "start" I again hear the fuel pump run. That tells me the ignition switch is not the problem--and I am back to the solenoid. Is that diagnois correct? Anything else before I replace the starter/solenoid? Richard Boulder |
