I'm glad we're getting mandatory theft deterrent systems. Auto theft isn't just an inconvenience, it's downright dangerous when yahoos steal a car to go joyriding. Here cars aren't stolen to get chopped, they're stolen to get driven fast, usually by kids.

That being said, apparently many cars with theft deterrent systems don't actually work. Cadillac comes to mind but I could be mistaken.
