Greetings from Germany list members!

I have to say that my Vanagon driving days may now be numbered after my latest purchase! I am prepairing a 1992 Volkswagen LT DoKa 4x4 to come to Canada. What a nice truck! We had to replace one of the exhaust manifold gaskets on this inline 6 cylinder engine and it took us about 3h to accomplish that - this means taking our time and drinking some beers while doing it. To accomplish this on a Vanagon would take a lot more than three hours. As far as being a simple vehicle to work on - this is it! Speed on the other hand, well, lets say max speed on the autobahn is 115km/h which is not bad for a 4.5 tonne truck!

After enjoying the rest of the Easter weekend, it will be off to see if I can find a nice KTM motor cycle from the Austrian army or a Hercules from the German army and then off to Wolfsburg with the LT and then to Bremerhaven to start itīs trip to Canada.

Well.. brunch is calling!

David Marshall
