I concur with folks about a "weekender" model. It's often called a base model instead.

If you have the cash and want something a little different, there were a limited number of Multivans imported in the late 80s which had a read bench seat and two removable jump seats which faced backwards. Always my dream, but still $$$.

One thought here: they're right. Vanagons have their kinks and many have been poorly (or not) maintained. Buyer beware, and make sure your mind - not your heart - chooses the right van.
