Subject: Elec. Questions. YES it's about Aux Batt. NO,

Hi all.

I searched, read Bentley, but can't wrap my head around wiring for aux batt. Partly because it *seems* that PO did something different than stock.

What I've got:

a large "can" instead of relay, 10 gauge wire and connectors.

In Aux batt. box, a blue wire (20 gauge?) connected to white (10 gauge?) wire. White runs to cabinet area.

Red wire which *had* a 20 amp fuse in line. I had removed it. If I'm not misreading, Bentley shows a 16 amp fuse there.

Is "can" instead of relay ok?

What amperage fuse should be inline of red wire?

Does blue wire supply 12V for "can" to operate? i.e. when engine running?

What does white wire connect to?

Blue wire shows 0V with engine off or with key at Ign. position. Have not measured blue with engine running. (Front of van up on stands)

Larger red shows 12V when engine off. Pretty sure it supplies 12V to house light and is always on.

For now, my plan is to wire refer, stock house light and an added connector (cig. jack?) for DC accessories, directly to aux batt.

As always any help much appreciated and apologies for such begginer questions.

Many TIA's,
