Insects are attracted to LP gas smell. So, many times at least one bug is found ,with his head stuffed into the burner,dead.This is bug heaven.That other stuff looks like rusted vent.I think the white stuff is alunminum oxide.That vent is unpainted on the inside and will rust 365 days a year.Maybe POR15 manifold grey will coat t his pipe on theinside.Good to 1400degrees F. Earlier rm182a refrigerators seem to have a different metal alloy in the vent.It doesent rust much.
