Subject: Aux batt relay PN needed + refer re-wiring question (diagram
              supplied)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed

Hi all.

I have decided to go with a standard 4 pin relay for aux. battery setup instead of isolator solenoid.

I understand that both wires from refer can't simply be connected to aux. batt. (thanks Mark) Even when not set to 12V at refer, the refer relay is still drawing power.

In order to have refer run on 12V SHORT term, I have altered wiring to refer as such:

Has anyone else done this successfully?

Is this idea/schematic correct?

One obvious drawback is that new switch could be left "on" by accident. I imagine a relay could be used in place of switch. One that would be triggered by the 12v switch on refer. I dunno....

What is the PN for aux battery relay, and is it a 30 or 40 amp?

Thanks for any help, and hopefully my diagram will help others out.

Neil.
