mike.. by "Golf" i assume you mean the '75-79 rabbit (aka mk1 Golf to the rest of the world).. and the '80-'93 rabbit convertible and Cabriolet (the mk1 Golf Cabriolet to the rest of the world), which were the only "Golfs" to use the same rear sidemarkers as the vanagon. the mk2 Golf used a different sidemarker.

ps: the mercedes G55 uses the same rear side markers as the vanagon too...
