hello everyone...i'm a 25 year old vananut...have been
for 6 or 7 years now...on my second vanagon (Larry the
Good)...and am currently undergoing a COMPLETE
REPAINT...INSIDE AND OUT!
i will tell you from experience, that unless you are
COMPLETELY OBSESSED with your van...DO NOT CHANGE THE
COLOR! a repaint is more work than you could IMAGINE!
i'm no body work pro, but i work at a junkyard, i
have more tools than i know what to do with, and i
have a wealth of knowledge at my fingertips...but the
WORK...UGH! SO MUCH SANDING! i had a little seam
rust, and the floor panel that abbuts the utility wall
was nearly completely rotten at the seam...so i did
what any other junk yard dog would do...i cut the
piece out and put a new one in...much easier said than
done.
i'm not trying to discourage anyone from being unique,
but unless your planning on changing the coplete color
of your van, stick to factory color.
