Rarely that i ask for help but maybe now someone had that problem and can give me an hint, i'm NO AC guru at all.

The van is an 87 with AC

Problem: customer drive the van with AC ON on freeway, get out of freeway, let go of the gas pedal, Idle stays at 2000 RPM, close AC, idle is fine, put back AC, engine rev up to 2000.

So, on Digfan/late Van, i can not trace what control the higher idle when AC is ON, i know that the ISCU (Idle Stabbilizer Control Unit) control the Power stering higher idle but not sure about AC, anyway, i thought i ask before i get into that problem and loose precious time. I didn't take a real look at the schema but will later.

Benny Boy, I see no one has responded to your question yet. I have worked with this problem before. On top of the compressor is a wire, yellow/black I think, not sure, but anyways that wire goes to the ICU and it gives info that the compressor is activated and the ICU is supposed to adjust the idle accordingly. I would check to make sure that wire is connected and working. If that's not the problem then it's the ICU that's at fault.

Cheers,
