Hi Rob: I'm located up in Fairbanks. I think that Joel gave you some good advice. The milepost is a must have item, and even teaches us Alaskan's a thing or two. Weather is fast-changing, so layers of clothing is a very good idea-- be prepared for anything. We went from 55 to snow in about two hour over the past weekend. Mosquitoes--LOTS--like you've never seen before-- trust me. You don't even want to think about going into the woods around here without serious bug dope. period! Protection for the front of the van is a good idea, bra, headlight protectors. Don't be surprised if you get a cracked windshield. Lots of gravel on the roads. Oh, sunlight be prepared. It's not called them the land of the midnight sun for nothing. We are up to about 15 plus hours already. Standard stock curtains may not be enough to block out the light. Make sure all your screens are in good shape!! Best, Troy 89 Westy |
