FWIW, Back in VW's heyday, maybe even today?, a German Master Mechanic program apprenticeship took 8 years. Tom B.-are most of those volks gone?
Back in the late 60's & early 70's I was friends with a couple who had moved here from Germany, the guy was a VW mechanic they moved here to work at a VW dealer. He quite in disgust in the late 70's, telling me he couldn't stand what VW's had become. He gave me hell for buying a '73 Beetle! If he thought VW was going in the wrong direction back then, I wonder what he would think today?!
