I have found that the OE VW mirrors are the best way to go for replacements. I used to sell the aftermarket Hagus for years and I got very few complaints on these. Until I needed a pair for my own personal 85 Westy. Put them on and every time I would shut the door they would go out of adjustment. Tightening the spring didn't help at all. Bought a set of OE VW Mirrors and I was good to go. So that is all I sell now. Yes they are more expensive. But they should last you another ten years and actually stay where you put them. Just because something is cheap doesn't mean that it isn't expensive in other ways :-)

Rearview mirror problem.

Now that I have "More Power" my 2.1L - 84 Westy has a new issue. since I can not hit 80MPH with little effort; the wind causes my mirrors to fold-in at high speed.

Sure the easy fix is to drive slower, or try to tighten the bolt / spring even more (I think I've got it as tight as I can get it), but I wondered if any of you have a better solution.

Thanks,

Jack R.

84 Westy, with a 91 synco 2.1 motor
