I have a Subaru 2.2 in my Vanagon and think it's great, but it's only been a year as a daily driver (around 80 miles a day). A Subaru is the way to go.

That one guy (Joe W) talked about having to work on Subies all the time, and how much better the VW engines are. I'd love to hear some specifics. As to the folks on the Subaruvanagon list covering up? Give-me-break, the folks on that list are the same ones on this list, are you saying the people on this list don't tell it as it is? It's still a Vanagon it just has a different engine.

With a '91 Subaru 2.2 in an '87 Vanagon in western Washington.
