Mike,

My 84 westy is the same as yours, & I had the same problema as you & did the same as you. Chris mentions Luan which is also known as "Philippine mahogany" & that is not what I have on my slider-it is the same yellow thin masonite(ivory?) like paneling that is in the other parts of the og westy camper interior?

Tom B.-Did recently replace the broken outside door handle w/ a correct new one from BD.
